Here is a wonderful old teapot from China, straight-sided, but molded by hand in high relief with prunus branches. The wooden branches sometimes stand fully in the round, in three-dimensions, with a gap underneath them. The lid too has a high-relief prunus branch with flowers. It has two seal marks, one under the lid and another different one under the teapot. Overall it is seven and a quarter inches long. Undamaged, with no chips or cracks, though it has been used for tea. There is some encrustation but I decided not to clean it off. Unfortunately there is a small clay spur on the inside top curve of the handle that you can feel when you lift it. That bit of discomfort might explain why it has been used so little. It could easily be ground off with a nail file, and I can do that if the new owner wishes. I have two of these teapots for sale and there is a discount for the purchase of both.
