An outstanding example of export ware, this colorful teapot with mandarin-style decoration of scholars or aesthetes is a feast for the eyes. The colors are rich and vibrant, the globular shape perfectly balanced with gilded spout and handle, and gilded highlights add a sparkle and glimmer to the surface. It is five and three-quarters inches tall and in superb condition with very little wear to the gilding. A very desirable teapot.
