What a bright and appealing teapot—made at Derby in the very early 19th century. Remarkably, this one comes complete with its original stand. Derby always followed the height of style, and this teapot with its refined and classically inspired decoration would have been right at home in the drawing room of a well-to-do hostess in London. It is eleven and a half inches long and in excellent condition, with only a spot of regilding on the lip of the spout and a small chip on the bottom flange of the lid, unseen when the lid is in place.
