Early Coalport Style Cup & Saucer with Cobalt Blue Band and Gilding C1820 - image 1 of 5

Here is a porcelain coffee cup and saucer from the early part of the nineteenth century. The bold cobalt blue band extends halfway down and is enlivened by a repeating pattern that looks a bit like ocean waves. Its decorative design is certainly reminiscent of Spode, but it is unmarked and it could have been made by any of a number of factories. The saucer is a little over five and three-eighths inches in diameter. Very slight gilding wear from normal use. No damage.
