This early blue-printed Worcester set pays homage to the millions of pieces of blue and white Chinese porcelain that flooded Europe during the 18th century. Not only the design but also the handleless shape is Chinese. Worcester was justifiably proud of its blue and white pieces, for their sturdiness and their decorative values. This set has one of the scarcer patterns: a Chinese woman in conversation with her attendants. Excellent condition. The saucer is four and three-quarters inches in diameter.
