The decoration on this lively antique porcelain teapot shows a kind of classical influence akin to the antiquities unearthed at Pompeii in the 18th century. The roses are especially well rendered in a very painterly fashion. It is three and three-quarters inches tall, quite dainty. Aside from a repaired chip to the edge of the lid and a tiny bit of petal damage to the finial, it is in excellent condition with vibrant colors. These 18th-century Copenhagen teapots are exceptionally rare.
