Here is a splendid antique porcelain cup and saucer with exuberant painted flowers that are typical of Meissen flowers at their finest. This “Deutsche blumen” style of flower painting took hold in the mid-18th century and is still fresh and exciting today. The set here, a handleless teabowl and saucer, has gilded rims and is in excellent condition except for a tiny chip on the footrim of the cup. Otherwise near perfect. Date is about 1750. The gilded rims are in great shape.
