Here are two maids out in the garden. This colorful group, with a very complicated and compact sculptural design, shows two women servants or Austrian peasants bringing in the flowers from the garden, and maybe a few vegetables too. They are arranged in a very three-dimensional way that has to be seen on all sides to be appreciated. The group is five inches tall. Condition is as follows: A section of the bowl has been reattached and repaired quite well. The spout to the watering can has been replaced, and there is some rubbing to the watering can’s glaze. It has the proper marks for an 18th century figure, including a capital letter R impressed on the side, as shown in one of the photos.
