Here is a very pleasing porcelain statue of the goddess Venus with one of her attendants, an Eros who is preparing to shoot his arrows into the hearts of lovers. This figurine is very much in an 18th-century style, but in fact it was probably made around 1900. The soft pastel colors are especially appealing. It stands just about eight inches tall. The detailing is amazing, even to the tiny fingers of the cherub! Condition is excellent: there are repairs to some of the leaves on the tree and to one leaf on the base. It displays perfectly. It is incised with the number 66 on the bottom.
