These are 20th-century versions of the classic Italian Comedy (Commedia dell'arte) theatrical figures that Bustelli modeled for the Nymphenburg porcelain factory in Munich in the 18th century, a triumph of artistic joy in design. Bustelli managed to capture the true spirit of the rococo style in his masterful creations. These examples are six and seven-eighths inches high, and both are in perfect condition with no damage or repairs.
