These owe a debt to Johann Kandler at the Meissen porcelain factory, since he was the first to model monks and nuns in porcelain. Bow is following closely in his footsteps with these figures, four and a half inches high. She seems to wear a veil trimmed in ermine—an interesting choice considering her vocation to poverty! Overall they are in excellent condition. Her book has been detached and replaced, with repair to her hands. Provenance: The Antique Porcelain Company.
