Colorful and dramatic, this early antique parrot makes an impressive decorative statement. It was most likely designed by Theodor Karner, who worked as a sculptor for Nymphenburg between 1905 and 1918. There he designed 88 different figures, including many parrots. This example might date to the 1910s or might be a little newer, but they don't make this figure any longer. Gorgeous coloring and exceptional modeling. Nymphenburg produced porcelain that rivaled the best European porcelain makers. Beautiful display piece, especially for the parrot lover! It stands nearly eight inches tall and is in perfect shape with no damage or restorations. It is marked with the number 414 over 4. Provenance: The Antique Porcelain Company.
