This figure came along early in the Derby factory’s history. It would have been part of a set of four figures emblematic of the four seasons. It’s very small, yet it invites you to pick it up to look at the amazing detailing. This figure is rare to find in colors, and even rarer in white. (Figures were sold white only when they had no imperfections from the kiln. Glazes were used to hide flaws.) She is marked underneath with the correct inventory number N 61. She is only three and seven-eighths inches high. Her flower basket is missing. The nosegay she is holding is chipped, along with some elements of the bocage. Perhaps she will do to complete your set until a perfect one comes along . . . .
