Here is a set of three Derby dishes ready for display. Each piece has a central bouquet of colorful flowers, accompanied by four flower sprigs in the borders. The painting is very well done and quite attractive. The artist is almost inviting you to take a closer look, so I’ve included several close-ups. The plates are nine and three-quarters inches in diameter and the dish is eleven and three-quarters inches long by nine and a quarter inches wide. Condition is excellent: each plate has a very minor chip on the back, one plate has a nearly invisible glaze line (shown in the last photo, very hard to see) carried over from a crack on the underside, and the shaped dish has very minor loss to the gilding on the rim. All the lively painting is in superb shape. Workers’ numbers on the back include 28 on all the dishes, plus 29 on one plate and 35 on the shaped dish.
