What sets this plate apart are its wonderful condition and its lack of the manufacturing flaws that so often afflicted early Chelsea porcelain. Besides those technical details, it's quite pretty too. This plate fired in the kiln perfectly, with no bubbles or pits on the front surface, and there’s no crazing or thickening of the clear glaze. The colors are carefully matched and fired to perfection. In addition, it has almost no wear to the decoration. It has a very tiny red anchor mark on the back, indicating a date of around 1752 to 1756. The flower decoration is bold and confident, in typical Chelsea colors. Eight inches in diameter.
