Really impressive on display standing against the back wall of a china cabinet, this blue and white fruit dish in the form of a pierced basket is ten inches across and two and three-quarters inches high. The center decoration of flower and pine cones was transfer-printed and the rim decoration was painted by hand. The piercing was done by hand after the bowl was molded in porcelain but still soft, and the little florets on the outside were molded separately and applied by hand. It is in superb condition, with only one hairline to one of the basketwork straps. (If you look real close you’ll see that a petal of one of the applied flowers came off during the firing.)
