The German verse under the medallion of Cupid and Psyche, in English translation, would read something like this: “Love and harmony can never be assumed, which is the message communicated through this symbol.” Perhaps the intent is to urge the beloved to get busy and make a decision, because the chance for love won’t always be there! At any rate, the coffee pot itself is lovely and well worth a special place on the shelf. It is eight inches tall and the bottom has the appropriate blue shield mark of the Vienna factory, along with an incised 7 (?). Aside from a neatly repaired chip on the side of the spout (shown), it is in excellent condition.

A warm welcome! Please consider all our offerings, and feel free to inquire about more information. We’re always buying, so let us know if you have early porcelain items to sell.
