This rare background color was used at the Ludwigsburg factory for a short time around 1775 on a very small number of table services. As was often the case, the factory was attempting to copy Meissen wares that had the same type of decoration. This plate bears a single flower bouquet in the center and four cartouche reserves on the rim with simpler decoration. It is nine and a half inches across and in excellent condition. (The close-up shot of the border gives a little better idea of the true color than the shot of the complete plate.)
