Here is a gorgeous plate that has been unfortunately broken in four pieces but is still a standout example, well worth the relatively simple repainting it would need, since the breaks avoided most of the flowers. The flowers are magnificent, bold in outline and colorful in tone. Other than the breaks, there is very little wear to the surface and no other damage. It is nine and a quarter inches across, with a very fancy scrolling edge highlighted in blue and gold. The footrim has been ground flat, as with many authentic Chelsea pieces, and the glaze shows crazing lines, also a feature of genuine Chelsea. Quite heavy.
