1747 Horace, the Philip Francis poetical translation, Second Edition Full title: Horace, A Poetical Translation of the Works of Horace with the Original Text and Notes: The Odes, Epodes and Carmen Seculare; The Satires; The Epistles and Art of Poetry. A poetical translation of the original text with notes collected from the best Latin and French commentators. Full-Leather.5¾" - 6¾". Bookplate of the Royal College of Physicians. Pigskin replacements for some missing sections of the spine. Perhaps a little shoe polish would color these in a little better? Some splitting. Interiors are excellent. One cover detached.
