Bronze

since 2024
A Victorian brown paste seal with the image of a gentleman in a top hat with umbrella under arm with text ‘I Hope I Don’t Intrude’.

This seal depicts Paul Pry of the eponymous theatrical farce of 1825 by Playwright John Poole. Paul Pry was a comical, idle, meddlesome and mischievous fellow consumed with curiosity who conveniently leaves behind his umbrella in order to have an excuse to return and eavesdrop, often using the catchphrase 'I hope I don't intrude'.

This intaglio can now be used to seal letters or mounted into a custom piece of jewellery.
