Presented for your consideration is a wonderful Vintage Thailand, Circa 1950's, Bronze and Rosewood Dessert Serving Set of 19 + 1 all encased in a very sound wooden case with excellent locking mechanisms. The original label remains in place indicating it was made by "James" out of Bangkok, Thailand.
This is a well made set from the 1950's in a very well preserved wooded presentation box. The metal is bronze probably because it is a stronger and stiffer metal than brass. The handles are made of rosewood and bronze and are all in very good condition. The set could use a fresh Brasso polishing but is in very good condition. Two of the holding straps for the cake knife and server need to be reattached which could be easily done. One of the side straps meant to steady the lid when open is missing. Neither of those issues take away from the vintage beauty of this set.
The set includes 8 dessert forks, 8 dessert spoons, a cake/pie lifter, a long curved cutting knife and an ice cream scoop. As a bonus there is also a small knife nearly matching this set that appeared in the case without a specific place for it. Case is 12 3/8" x 7 3/4", not counting hinges, and is 3" deep. This is an older set and is of better quality then what is sold now.
Dessert Fork is 5 1/4"
Dessert Spoon is 5"
Cake Knife is 9 1/4"
Cake Server is 9 3/4"
Ice Cream Scoop is 4 1/4"
Such a small investment to add such quality and style to your entertainment settings!
