This is a wonderful colored lantern slide depicting a small boat that is being tossed about in gigantic waves in a raging sea. There are large rocks and it seems that the small boat will either be engulfed by the waves or smashed into the rocks. pThe circular image is sealed in a 7 x 4 inch wooden frame. One edge of the frame is impressed with T. H. McAllister Optician, N. Y. There are only a few bits of the paper label that had been on the edge of the slide giving information about its subject. There are no cracks of chips in the glass. McAllister was one of the icons of lantern slide production in the late 1800's to the early 1900's.
