Remember the ground breaking refrigerator from GE In 1934 that spawned a set of salt and pepper shakers and a mustard pot made in the image of the refrigerator with a big round unit on the top of the rectangular box? Well, this booklet was made to be included when one of the state of the art refrigerators was purchased. The booklet is 72 pages long and includes instructions on how to use the newest features of this refrigerator as well as a bevy of recipes that make use of the features for the homemaker who is the first on the block to have this state of the art appliance!
The booklet was made with a tape reinforced binding due to the size of the booklet. The tape is intact as are all of the pages and the cover. The cover shows wear from use but it is still bright and colorful. There are multiple images of this revolutionary refrigeration unit throughout the book. There are lots of recipes and each section has information about novel uses of the refrigerator from saving money because you can now make larger grocery purchases, to making the kitchen the hub of entertaining, to making ice cubes and freezing foods. (Good bye ice delivery man).
The inside front cover has hand written instructions for the buyer to follow in setting the refrigerator:
Setting 2 in real cold winter
Setting 3 in spring and fall
Setting 4 in warm weather
Setting 5 in hot weather
Settings 6-7-8 for desserts according to the season of the year.
