This 6 inch long wooden baseball bat mechanical pencil celebrates the St. Louis Cardinals in the National League. The St. Louis Cardinals have long used variations of the “birds on the bat” logo over the years and the logo on this bat was used from 1927-1947. It is likely that this pencil was a souvenir from the 1944 all-St. Louis World Series between the St. Louis Browns (American League) and St. Louis Cardinals (National League). There is a brass tip that works to extend and retract the lead and this mechanism works. There is lead in the pencil.
