This is a wonderful porcelain sculpture from the Lenox Annual Santa collection. This was issued in 1998 by Lenox and features Santa in his workshop reading letters from children with their Christmas wishes. He has a big bag of presents that spill out at his feet and there is a separate little puppy figure that is laying across one of the presents that has spilled out of the bag. The pup can be positioned in various places around the Santa to evoke various feelings. The letter Santa is reading asks for a puppy for Christmas and we are left to decide if the puppy in this set is the gift or is Santa’s dog. The pup has a red ribbon with a Christmas bell and bow around its neck. The figures are hand painted and embellished with 24K gold leaf. The Santa measures about 6 1/2 inches tall by 4 inches wide and the little puppy measures 2 1/4 inches wide and 2 1/2 inches tall. The figures are meticulously painted and very detailed, even down to the letter that has print on both sides of the paper! You would not expect less from Lenox. The base of the porcelain figures are both marked with Lenox and Santa is dated. The figures come with the original Lenox Certificate of Authenticity.
The figures are in perfect condition without chips, repairs or cracks. This is from my personal collection.
