This unusual Thanksgiving postcard boasts large purple velvet plums rather than the typical Thanksgiving theme. The face of the card has and embossed motif of leaves and plums and the background is textured. The card’s message is Cordial Thanksgiving Greetings. The sender has written her name on the front of the card as was usual prior to the use of divided backs with space for address and a written note.
The card has a divided back with a Fort Crook Nebraska postmark dated November 28,1908. There is a canceled stamp that is intact. The card is in good, postally used condition. Two light corner creases are present.
There is no message, but, in pencil, the senders name is again written in the area for the message.
GENEALOGY: The card was sent by a Mrs M. Reed. The card is addressed to a Miss S. Gates, Fort Crook, Nebraska.
