This 1911 Thanksgiving postcard is lovely and features a boy and a girl who are carrying a big turkey in a basket adorned with grapes, apples and fall vegetables. The front of the card has a greeting in worn gold leaf proclaiming Best Wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving. The colors of the card are bright and appealing. There is a seriously bumped upper right hand corner. As previously noted the gold leaf printing is faded.
The back of the card is divided and the card has been postally used. There is a stamp and a November 25, 1911 postmark from Canton MO?. The card has an inked address and message.
The card is addressed to Miss Hallie Foster. RR 9 Trenton M(o?)
The message reads: Hello: How is the weather over there? It is sure most awful bad here & has been snowing all day. I will start home in about 3 weeks. Your Bro. Thomas.
