This is political memento from the notorious second term of President Richard M. Nixon. The solid bronze coin is 2 3/4 inches in diameter and is 1 /4 inch thick. The face features the profiles of President Nixon and his Vice President Spiro Agnew. The reverse of the coin has the Presidential Seal of the United States and around the perimeter of the coin is President Richard Nixon * Vice President Spiro Agnew * Inaugurated to Second Term of Office January 20, 1973. In August, 1974 Nixon would resign under the scandal of Watergate but prior to that, in October 1973 Spiro Agnew would resign and later plead no contest to charges of bribery and tax evasion. This heavy coin, 201 grams or 7.1 oz, is suitable for display or for use as a paper weight. The edge of the coin is inscribed with c. 1973 Inaugural Committee, Solid Bronze. The opposite side of the coin edge is inscribed with The Franklin Mint. The coin has a nice patina.
