This little luster glazed cup was made in Germany and is marked on the base. The cup had a little pig glazed with a golden luster peeking over the edge. The cup is also decorated with a transfer showing the New Concrete Bridge in Zanesville, Ohio.
This "Y" bridge was the fourth Y bridge built to connect Zanesville with Putnam and West Zanesville. The "Y" configuration is an oddity that made the bridge an attraction. The previous three bridges of this kind were all demolished when they became unsafe. This new bridge made with reinforced concrete opened in 1902.
No chips or cracks are identified. Appropriate base ware for an early 1900's piece.
