This 1909 postcard advertises for the team of William Howard Taft and James S. Sherman who were the Republican candidates, and ultimately, President and Vice President, elected in 1908. The card face has portraits of the two candidates flanking crossed flags. The card proclaims the ticket as "The Nations Choice." At the bottom of face of the card is printed: Copyright 1908 by M. M. Rose. The card is in good condition with minor corner bumping. The initials E. K. are written lightly in ink on the bottom of the face under Sherman's portrait.
The back of the card bears a stamp, address and message, but there is no evidence of a postmark. The card is dated October 7, 1909. The stamp is put on the card upside down and has an X drawn through it.
Message: Oct. 7, 1909. Dear Alice: Your letter received, was glad to hear you were going to high school. Hope you like it and are getting along nicely. Were you at the co. (County) fair? I went Friday and Saturday. Saw Glen and Roy there. With Best Wishes Edith Keplar(?)
