This 1917 Thanksgiving postcard wishes you “A Peaceful Thanksgiving” and features a big, fat turkey sitting in a carved out pumpkin. The colors are bright and the card is in good condition. The lower left hand corner of the face has the following markings: T34, C within a circle and N in a triangle.

The back of the card has an address and handwritten message, but it does not appear to have been mailed as it lacks a postmark or stamp. The message is cute and humorous.

Message: Harrisburg, Pa. Nov. 25, 1917,
Dear Auntie: Don’t you wish a turkey would hop into your pumpkin. We have 2 big pumpkins saved for pies if we can get any grease to make them with. Furnace just blew off and scared us good. Wish I could be with you Thurs. June.

Genealogy: The card is addressed to Mrs. Esther L. Smith. R ~. Havana, Ill.

Multiple postcards can be mailed for nearly the same amount as multiple cards, so if you make multiple purchases, please wait to pay until I can adjust the postage appropriately.
