1920's Cradle Roll postcard has sweet illustration by CM Burd. Signature is in the lower right hand corner. These cards were sent by Sunday Schools to welcome little ones as they had a birthday and went into an older class. The card has been in an album and has some surface paper loss on the reverse side. There is a pencil note on the back and an address. There was a stamp at one time but it has become lost. Corners are bumped and the card is soiled. Still a nice card in fair condition for those collecting Sunday School postcards.
The card is marked New York The Abingdon Press and something else illegible.
Postmark is November 18 Pittsfield Illinois but no year is on the postmark.
Message: Dearest Little Girlie, You are three years old and are now no longer a Cradle Roller but are now promoted to the (illegible). The rest of the message is illegible but at the bottom of the message is the date of November 18, 1921.
GENEALOGY: The card is addressed to Katherine E. Duff c/o Ernest Duff Pittssfield, Ill.
