This little elephant is made of vintage early molded plastic material, probably celluloid, and is attached to a very old woolen strand. The elephant is 1 inch in maximum diameter. It has an up-lifted trunk, which is thought to convey good luck. The fittings such as the loop in the back of the elephant and the cuff that attaches the wool strand are brass metal. This was probably used as a good luck charm on a key ring, necklace or pin.
