Columbia Pottery Works Bakerite dinner plate with bright flowers
This lovely plate would be a great decorative item hanging on the wall in your kitchen but it would also be wonderful as an eclectic piece of tableware or even to complete a vintage dinner service. This colorful plate has a gently scalloped edge with a thin black line around the edge. The rim of the plate is decorated with bold floral transfer of orange and blue flowers with yellow centers and green leaves. One orange flower trails onto the dining surface of the plate as a touch of whimsy. There are no chips or cracks. The base of the plate has two labels. One is an over the glaze mark of Columbia Chinaware Established in 1873 in bold colors and with the Statue of Liberty in the center of the mark. There is also a paper label on the back of the plate that is essentially intact with the exception of the right upper corner. This label marks the plate as Bakerite Chinaware and gives care instructions. This label indicates that the plate is a product of the Columbia Pottery Works, East Liverpool, Ohio.
