Matchbox Models of Yesteryear 1929 4.5 litre Bentley. This is in mint condition except that one of the rear springs is a little bent away from the body. I have another copy that has exactly the same defect and I believe it to be a factory defect. This in fact might be the reason that later copies of this model had no gap between the springs and the fuel tank. It is only really noticeable if you turn the model upside down. The chrome parts have an even patina consistent with age - I've never seen a version of this that had bright chrome and it probably never did.
The car was very successful in Le Mans races. An interesting piece of trivia is that in the early James Bond books (but not the movies) Bond drove a 1933 version of this car.
Comes with an original box which is complete but has some staining..
