A gorgeous Art Deco styled Robinson Ransbottom pottery vase is presented in a lovely buttercup yellow glaze.

Circa 1940’s-50’s, this vintage Robinson Ransbottom vase measures 9 ½ inches tall. It is 4 ½ inches wide at the widest portion, which is towards the top. It tapers down to 2 ½ inches wide at the bottom. The design is sleek and symmetric with a distinctive Art Deco inspired style to the vintage pottery vase. It is designed in such a manner that the vase appears to be sitting on a base. The glaze as stated above, is a soft buttercup yellow, truly lovely. The bottom of the vintage pottery vase is embossed: RRPCO, ROSEVILLE, OHIO. RRPCO stands for the Robinson Ransbottom Pottery Company. BE SURE TO SEE ALL PHOTOS.

A bit of history of the Robinson Ransbottom Pottery Company is that Frank Ransbottom was a successful manufacturer of stoneware and pottery and decided to start his own company with his brother in 1900 to distribute pottery items that were made locally in Ohio. Previously, the two brothers were introduced to making pottery by their father, Alfred, who operated the Bluebird Potteries in Ohio. By 1916, the Ransbottom Pottery Company was the largest manufacturer of stoneware jars. The two brothers wanted to diversify what they produced, so the Ransbottom merged with Robinson Clay Products Co, who was a manufacturer of tile and bricks. These product lines were expanded to include garden ware and household items, such as vases and planters. Many people have confused Robinson-Ransbottom Pottery with Roseville Pottery because they were located in Roseville, Ohio and the look of many of the pieces are similar at times. Additionally, many items have the town name, Roseville, as part of the company mark, such as this lovely example of this vase.

This gorgeous example of a Robinson Ransbottom pottery vase has one slight manufacturer’s imperfection (see photo) toward the bottom of the vase, which does not deter from the beauty of the vase. Otherwise, this vintage pottery RRPCO vase is in perfect condition and is ready to be used and/or displayed.
