Lucite was first introduced to the marketplace by DuPont in 1937, and is the common name associated with an acrylic resin. In its original and basic form, Lucite is clear, but it was often tinted in a wide range of colors and tones. These wonderful vintage Lucite dress clips are a good example of how versatile this form of vintage plastic was. After World War II, Bakelite was no longer cost effective to produce, but Lucite was and still is today.
The prongs on each vintage Lucite dress clip are long and cover the entire middle of each dress clip and work perfectly. One of the clips, has minimal discoloration (not rust at all). This exact matching pair of vintage Lucite dress clips are just perfect!
