50% OFF! A Vintage McCoy planter is presented. The glaze is a deep green color with a fabulous raised relief design.
Circa 1940's-50's, this Vintage McCoy flower planter measures 7 inches long and 3 inches tall. There is a depth of 3 ½ inches. All four sides bow out slightly, adding to the interesting style of this vintage pottery planter. The top has an almost scalloped appearance. The coloration is a tone-on-tone green glaze, so popular during the era of production. The design is quite interesting. There are a series of vertical etched lines along the entire McCoy planter. There are also areas of raised triangular shaped areas, each measuring 3 inches wide. There are two each of these on the long sides and one each on the short side of the vintage pottery planter (see photos). These raised relief triangular shaped areas also have the same vertical lines. The interesting design gives it just the right amount of vintage flare!
The McCoy Pottery Company was founded in Roseville Ohio originally in 1910. In 1933 it became known as the Nelson McCoy Pottery Company. Pieces that are just embossed on the bottom MC COY (as this one is) were made by the Nelson McCoy Pottery Company.
As stated above, this vintage McCoy flower planter has embossed on the bottom MC COY (see photo). The inside is clean and perfect and is ready for a wonderful plant, such as an African Violet or other foliage. The outside is free of cracking or crazing. The entire Vintage McCoy Pottery planter is in mint condition. It will look wonderful as a centerpiece perhaps on a table set with vintage kitchenware.
