Lucite was originally introduced to the marketplace by DuPont in 1937, and is the common name associated with an acrylic resin. In its original and basic form, Lucite is clear, but it was often tinted in a wide range of colors and tones. After World War II, Bakelite was no longer cost effective to produce, but Lucite was and still is today. One of the most gorgeous types of vintage Lucite that looks like it has an "inner glow," is Moonglow Lucite, which was crafted to resemble a moonstone, as can be seen in this vintage bangle. The effect that was created results in the appearance of the Lucite piece to be lit from within, as can be seen from this vintage Lucite Moonglow bangle. It looks like a translucent faux moonstone with its pearlized effect.
This ivory colored vintage Moonglow Lucite bangle is in perfect condition and truly makes a fashion accessory statement.
