This is a wonderful Pair of Vintage .970 Sterling Silver Notched Bangle Bracelets designed by renowned silversmith Antonio Pineda. The bracelets are marked on the inside with Antonio Pineda’s “crown” maker’s hallmark, the Mexico “eagle” silver mark, “Hecho en Mexico”, “Silver” and “970”. . The maker’s hallmark dates the bracelet to 1953 or later. The bracelets have an inner diameter of 2-1/2 inches, the outer diameter is approximately 2-3/4 inches, and they have a combined weight of 37.3 grams. Other than some light scratches, this pair of Antonio Pineda sterling silver notched bangle bracelets are in very good vintage condition. Antonio Pineda (1919- 2009) was born in Taxco, Mexico where he studied painting and sculpture as a youth. When he was 14 he was apprenticed as a silversmith at the Taller de Las Delicias which was newly founded by William Spratling. In 1941, after 8 years as an apprentice, Pineda founded his own workshop and making his own designs.
