This beautiful 8 Piece Sterling Silver Art Nouveau Dresser/ Vanity Set is decorated with intertwining flowers and vines, is not monogrammed, and was made by Foster & Bailey circa 1878-1898. The set includes a hand mirror, Shoe horn, buckle hook, nail buffer, nail file, cream holder, powder box, and hair receiver. The hair receiver and powder box both have American Brilliant Cut glass containers. Each piece is marked with the Foster & Bailey mark, “F&B”, and “sterling”. Along with the above marks the following pieces also have model numbers. The mirror is marked 2978, the hair receiver 3007 1/2, the powder box 3169, the nail buffer 3039, and the cream holder 3010. The approximate measurements of the pieces are as follows; The mirror is 11 inches long, 7 inches wide 5/8 inches thick. The hair receiver is 4 inches in diameter 2 5/8 inches high. The powder box 3 3/4 inches in diameter 1 3/4 inches high. The cream holder is 1 3/4 inches diameter 1 5/8 inches high. The nail buffer is 7 inches long, 2 inches wide, 2 1/8 inches high. The shoe horn 8 3/8 inches long 1 1/2 inches wide. The buckle hook 7 inches long 7/8 inches wide. The nail file is 7 1/2 inches long and 7/8 inches wide. The nail buffer shows wear and the mirror has yellowed. Other than the above mentioned and some tiny dings, this Art Nouveau vanity set is in very good antique condition.
