This beautiful Antique Wedgwood Creamware/ Queensware Fish Dish has the bottom molded with 2 large fish facing opposite directions and dates to circa 1764-1769. The dish has a scalloped and gilt edge and a hand painted crest. Above the crest is a cartouche with the Latin phrase from Ovid “Ai Sidera Vultus”, which translates to “Raise his face to the Stars”, and marked on the bottom with an impressed “WEDGWOOD”. The dish measures approximately 11-3/4 inches long, 6-1/2 inches wide, and 1-7/8 inches tall. The dish has some gilt loss, some stains and 2 chips on the rim. Other than the above mentioned, this Wedgwood fish dish is in very good antique condition.
