Sophisticated swirl…accessories and jewelry designer, Ugo Correani, collaborated with some of the best in the world including Versace. This swirl brooch has baroque overtones. It is very long at 5 ½” and is slightly curved to extend gracefully over the bust line. It has a matte gold color finish and the Ugo Correani signature. Wear it on a plain or patterned top, blouse, jacket, or coat. It is 2 ¾” wide and weighs 34 grams. It is in excellent vintage condition.
FYI: Ugo Correani (1935-1992) created innovative jewelry for all the big names in the European fashion community including Valentino, Lacroix, and Lagerfeld. In the 1970s he began signing his own pieces. Not long afterward, he formed a partnership with Gianni Versace in the design of costumes/jewelry for many stage productions at Milan’s Teatro alla Scala (La Scala Opera House in Milan, Italy). The duo seemed to feed on one another and stretch each other’s creativity. Correani’s works are often defined as “playful” and range in theme from natural to theatrical to African/Mayan.
