Known for their ornamental deigns and use of simulated faux pearls, the Richelieu jewelry line was made in Brooklyn, NY by the Joseph H. Meyer & Bros. Company. They began producing quality fashion jewelry in 1911. The company later became part of the Lisner-Richelieu Corp. This piece was likely produced in the 1960s or early 1970s. It has the typical polished gold tone metal in the shape of a panther. His eyes are green rhinestones and his neck is accented with red and turquoise colored glass cabochon stones. A large faux pearl dangles from his open mouth. It measures 3/4” wide and 2 1/4” high. It has a safety clasp and is in very good condition.
