We are delighted to offer today one of the treasures we found in Paris this year. This beautiful Jumeau fashion doll came with her original chemise, pantalettes, an exquisite blouse with 5 rows of scalloped trim inset into the front, tiny french seems, and teeny tiny hand stitching, and her pique over-blouse Vest (I wish I knew the name of this piece). This vest has very delicate loop trim, slits on the sides and back and the most luscious pearlized buttons. Also coming with her from Paris was the antique cream silk hat featuring a big bow on top which then drapes its multiple loop pieces down all the sides of the hat. Among the tiny double layers of ruffles are wee tiny white flowers and a bit of brown and mauve silk ribbon to match the hat to her skirt.

She requested some half slips and a skirt to restore her Glory and glamour. Her skirt is an authentic 1860's silk plaid skirt-completely hand sewn- with 3 incredible layers of 2.5" deep ruffles that run all the way around the skirt. The skirt is lined with white polished cotton lining. The ruffles are stitched on with pale blue thread. The silk skirt is fastened to a twill tape with exquisite cartridge pleating- so popular at the time. The skirt closes with a pin. At the back of the skirt, on the bottom rim there is an unfortunate BITE out of the skirt which measures about 1" w x 1.25" tall. The actual fabric is missing (silk and white lining) and the ruffle has been affected a little bit as well. One or two whip stitches would hide this bite and the other smaller cut that is about 6" to the right of it. The fabric on this garment is very early and it is easy to imagine any number of ways this could have happened. There are four smaller areas where only the silk has a hole in it about an inch wide. But all these rip spots are on the ruffled material and are quite easy to hide since they are hidden within the ruffle naturally and all of them are on the back on the garment.

We also gifted to her a pair of pale blue lacy open weave socks. The shoes were originally with her, but without socks or ties. We added cashmere yarn ties. Her shoes are antique hand make stiffened fabric slippers of cream and pink/peach coloring. Her watch brooch is a gift from us as well. The 1" watch features enameled flowers on a pink porcelain base- on one side- and a paper watch face covered by glass on the other. The glass covering the watch face is a line down the middle but seems to be sturdy. The bow pin is decorated with pink dots and has a hook on the back so it can be easily relocated if the owner wishes.

We would be happy to send her original wig if you wish, it has about 20 hairs left on the sides of it. Because of this unfortunate circumstance, we gifted her a new mohair wig by "DSB" which is hand sewn onto a tan gauze base and features dark blond mohair styled very expertly into an elegant up-do held by a delicate braid with sweet curly bangs to frame her beautiful face.

The Bisque: Her bisque head and swivel shoulder plate are in perfect condition. Her features are flawless. She has pale brown brows which match her hair, and very delicate lashes perfectly painted and framing her Blue Paperweight eyes. Her lips are quite beautifully painted with several shades of pink and her cheeks are just perfect and so very delicate.

The body: Her Poupee Peau body is quite sturdy and cleaner than most. It is marked on the small of her back with "Jumeau.... Paris".
