beautiful antique bulldog by Steiff :
Length with the tail 19 1/4" .
Length without the tail 15 1/3 " (39 cm) .
Height 11" (28 cm)
blank button in the left ear.
It is the model 5228,7 from 1906.
Model with the muzzle in leather in good used condition (a tiny part has been re-glued), the leash is missing (only a rest that you can see on the pictures).
This model is in short-pile plush (it is not the model in mohair), this model has only some parts in white mohair (see pics for the details,there are some loss of mohair).
Except the small loss of mohair the rest is in VERY GOOD condition.
The eyes are in wood (large shoe button), the left eye seems to have an old re-painted.
this lovable early Steiff dog is photographed with some friends of the same period (last pic) but only this one is for sale.
