This is a great BUTTON General Store Display from the 1940s-1950s. It was probably once a salesman sample that they used going from store to store. It is made to hang on a wall or sit on a counter with a single arm bracket which can be seen in one of our photos. It is made by the "LIFE BUTTON CO. INC. NEW YORK, NY" (as pictured). The header on the top of the display just about says it all "A BUTTON FOR EVERY NEED" (as pictured). There are hundreds of buttons ranging in all sizes, shapes and prices from 5 cents to $1.00. They are all displayed on 8 different slip in cardboard cards and some have yellowed slightly from age and some have some water stains. The display piece is a metal container which can be folded in half for easier carrying. The metal does have some surface rust and some minor denting but not significant. It measures about 22" x 16" x 3" when folded.
