For sale is this Meissen double handled soup (also called cream soup or bouillon) cup and saucer with a pastoral Watteau style scene featuring a couple with a lady facing a guitar playing man with his back to the viewer. This cup and saucer set is in the Neumarseille shape and was painted predominantly in copper green and decorated in gold. It is a first quality set that dates to the third quarter of the 20th Century. The bowl measures approximately 2 3/16" tall, 4 5/16" in diameter and 6 1/4" wide at the handles. The saucer measures approximately 1 5/16" tall and 6 5/8" in diameter.
There are two fleabites to the rim of the saucer, in close proximity to each other. There is also a small chip and some tiny nicks to the base rim of the bowl.
