A very fine example of Bauhaus Design:
A Mocha Pot by Karl Raichle (1889-1965) in Copper with a part Brass handle and Walnut finial and handle.
It has a classic Art Deco, conical form and is signed on the underside with the archetypal Raichle "R" and MEERSBURG, HANDARBEIT together with the numbers 37, 2. The interior is tin-lined and should be properly cleaned if its intended for use.
The pot measures 6.5 inches (17 cm) high and 3.5 inches (9 cm) diameter at the base.
The condition is excellent and its been left unpolished so as to preserve the fine, original patina of the copper.
Pots such as this come up very rarely at auction - a similar was was auctioned but unsold at Quittenbaum, Munich in 2013 where it was estimated at 500-600 (see last photo).
